A notice of recission was passed by Hilltops Council at the November ordinary meeting that would offer a peppercorn rent to the Murrumburrah-Harden Rotary Club for the Sewell Building.
Cr Matthew Stadtmiller, Cr Jake Davis and Cr Fiona Douglas put forward the recission motion 15.3 - 24/285 - Proposed Lease - 314 Albury Street, Murrumburrah (Sewell Building) during Closed Council during the November meeting.
The recission was passed with Cr Davis, Cr Douglas, Cr Ingram, Cr Langford, Cr Mackay and Cr Stadtmiller voting to rescind the previous resolution and Cr Blackwell, Cr Dodd, Cr Flanery, Cr Foreman and Cr Gallo voting against the motion.
Following the recission Council then resolved to:
(a) Advertise 314 Albury Street Murrumburrah being Lots E and F in depositied plan 5113 for a lease for two years with a further option of two years via Flemings Real Estate, Ray White Rural Harden and Jim Cusack Property if each company agrees to partake in the leasing process. These companies have been listed as they operate in the former Harden Shire Council area and the property pertains to that area. Involving more agents provides more transparency;
(b) That offers be invited for 30 days, before closing, where a report be a provided from each participating agent to Council regarding the offers, they have received;
(c) Receive a report on the top three offers from a monetary perspective in regard to what businesses on the open market are willing to pay for the weekly lease of the building;
(d) Decide which business should be given first option to take up the lease; and
(e) Resolve to enter into the lease period described above.
(f) In the event Council fails to lease, the lease to go to Rotary for a peppercorn rent for 12 months.
The new motion was moved by Cr Stadtmiller and Cr Davis.
Voting for the motion was Cr Blackwell, Cr Davis, Cr Dodd, Cr Douglas, Cr Flanery, Cr Foreman, Cr Ingram, Cr Langford, Cr Mackay and Cr Stadtmiller.
Voting against the motion was Cr Gallo.
