Young Hospital Auxiliary
The Young Hospital Auxiliary held its annual general meeting on 3 August 2023. President Janice Ward reflected on the past twelve months of activity and events of the Auxiliary, highlighting the highly successful open gardens day held in October last year and the high tea held in April this year. These events were the main fund raising events for the Auxiliary. All funds raised by the Auxiliary are spent for the benefit of patients at the Young District Hospital, officially known as the Young Health Service.
The election of new office bearers for 2023/24 was held with Janice Ward being re-elected as President, Libby Plumley Vice President, Gillian Wall Secretary, Gail Smith Assistant Secretary, Treasurer Rob Nash, Assistant Treasurer Gail Smith, Publicity Officer Libby Plumley. Outgoing Secretary, Lyn Freudenstein, was thanked for her past 15 years of service as the Auxiliary's Secretary.
The highlight of the meeting was the awarding of badges for long service. Mrs Tilla Davidson was awarded her 20 year service badge by Liane Preinbergs, the Auxiliary's regional representative. Tilla's son Christopher and his wife also attended the presentation. Liane travelled from Tumut to attend the meeting. Also receiving a badge for 15 years service was Marianne O'Toole and Janice Ward for her 10 years service.

Meals on Wheels
A special donation: Meals on Wheels Young received a generous donation from the Pontiac Car Club last Thursday.
After holding its Nationals in Young held earlier this year the group donated $1652 to Meals on Wheels Young to help them continue their great work.
The Pontiac Car Club spent a week in total in Young throughout their event which brought a lot of extra visitors who injected a decent amount of cash into the economy.
The group holds its Nationals every two years and looks forward to coming back to Young in around six years time.
Meals on Wheels Young thanked the Pontiac Car Club for their very generous donation that they were humbled to have received.
